The Zonta Club of Mankato prepared a taco salad dinner and provided an evening of Bingo with great prizes for approximately 50 people from the SILS/SLS In-Home Program.  It was a very enjoyable evening for everyone who attended.

 
Singing Cowboy Jim visited on May 11th.  Staff and consumers were on their feet dancing, singing and playing maracas!

On May 2nd, HMC participated in the Career Expo held at the civic Center.  The Career Expo gave 1200 area high students an opportunity to explore 16 different career fields.  HMC represented the Direct Support Professional career field and offered students an opportunity to learn more about what it would be like to work in direct support.  Tom C., Vicki R., Dorothy C., and Donna M. participated in the event sharing photos and doing activities.  All four receive services from our SLS program.  Tom shared his skill at playing Tic-Tac-Toe by challenging students to a game, Donna shared her vacation videos, Dorothy demonstrated her knitting skills and Vicki sharing her photo albums.

HMC formed a March of Dimes walk team & on Sunday April 29th participated in a 5 mile walk around lower North Mankato. We raised about $500.00 for premature babies. It was a beautiful day for a walk participants included; Jen Grenz, Brooke Riley, Jessica Pitts, Katie Shabrack, Tasha Novotny ,Tony Shabrack, Judy McCorquodale, Myron Kistler , Gregg Lind, Denise Ricke, Nancy Schneider & Erin McCarthy. Everyone had a great time walking with friends, getting some fresh air and raising money for babies. Thanks to everyone who donated!
