Congratulations Carol!
Kristine Yost, DSP

Carol G. has been competing in Special Olympics for a while. This year at Regional Special Olympics in St. Peter, she received 1st place in the tennis ball throw. She was able to move on to State, where it was held in Minneapolis on the University of Minnesota's athletic field. While waiting for her competition to begin, she was able to play some games. After completing a game she would receive a stamp. With a certain amount of stamps on the card, she would be able to get a prize.

Carol's competition started around 3:00 o'clock. She has been practicing for this since the day she found out that she was going to state for olympics. Carol did very well up at state, she received a bronze metal for 3rd place. After the competition and on the way home, Carol talked about how she enjoyed the olympics and can not wait for next year. Good Luck Carol for next year!

We value practices which promote socially-valued roles of all individualsserved as a way to enhance acceptance, self-esteem, and relationships.

On June 2, SLS Houses #2 and # 7 headed up to Camp Confidence for a week filled with memories and laughter!  The ladies enjoyed many activities during their time at Camp.  They got to pet and feed many animals including pot belly pigs, turkeys, ducks, deer and rabbits. They also got to hold snakes and ferrets; the first time for some!!

Even though the weather didn’t always cooperate, that didn’t keep these ladies inside!! They got to ride on a glass bottom boat and drive the pontoon even as sprinkles hit their heads!! On Wednesday the sun peeked out at us and the ladies rode the pontoon again and all got to drive that day! Later, they got to shoot archery, trying to get their bull’s eyes!!  The last night at Camp Donna, Theresa, Suzanne, Holly and Judy got to put on a play about Cassiopeia and the star constellations!!- Can anyone guess who the sea monster was???

If you see any of the ladies from #2 or #7 be sure to ask them about their vacation- Each one will have many stories to tell you!!
