Summer 2009

Co-workers and friends came together on August 13th to say farewell to Julie Boertje, RN.
Julie has been employed with HMC for 20 years in various roles, most recently as our Director of Nursing.

Julie, we wish you all the best and we thank you for the time you spent with us.  We hope you will remember the friends
you made and the experiences you had with our agency

The HMC softball team will be playing our July 7th softball game in memory of Angie Moore. Angie played softball on the HMC softball team the first 3 years we played and if Angie were still with us today, she would be on the team without a doubt.   Angie died in a motorcycle accident on August 18, 2008.  Angie worked at ICF-Homestead from July 2005 until her death.

At the annual softball game and picnic Angie was always there with batting T’s, extra bats, gloves and bases so that no one would be left out. Angie always went out of her way to make sure that everyone was able to participate to their fullest potential.

The game will be at 7:15 pm at Caswell Park. The softball team will be wearing special shirts that night with Angie’s name and number (#31). We are encouraging our fans to make posters and/or also wear shirts with Angie’s name and number on them as well.

A tribute to our friend and coworker

Community Rallies Around Harry Meyering Center

On June 11, several community businesses and organizations gathered to assist the HMC maintenance crew install a fence.

Those volunteering include: Home Depot, Bobcat of Mankato, and members of the MSU football team.

On July 9th, a group of friends toured KEYC's meteorology department with Mark Tarello, Chief Meteorologist.   Mr. Tarello told them about his job, how the green screen works and about what to do in severe weather.  Plus sat in during a live taping and waved hello at the end!

We had an outdoor dance on Friday, July 31st.  Music was performed by "Attitude", who performed outside for two hours.
And Elvis made a surprise visit!
