"Measure twice, cut once."
-Unknown

Steven Gahm grew up on a family farm in western Minnesota, a dairy operation with early mornings and black and white Holstein cows. With his grandparents living a half mile away along a field road and his grandfather an accomplished carpenter, Steven was well versed in the old English proverb, “Measure twice, cut once.”.

Steven graduated from Mankato State University, earning a Bachelor of Social Work degree and later a Master of Science degree. He started working in human services at Rice Memorial Hospital, a mental health worker in the Mental Health Unit. Later, he worked with the Minnesota State Hospital system, referring residents for community placement. Before joining the Harry Meyering team, Steven worked as a bookkeeper and spent a good deal of time canoeing rivers in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He still enjoys hiking and cross-country skiing, and is an active member with the local Prairie Enthusiasts.

While not a carpenter, Steven enjoys the accomplishment of building, working with others as they strive to engage in life, community as they learn, plan and make choices. Harry Meyering offers these opportunities.
